My name is Lauren Briggs. I am the owner / trainer for Ibis Farm. Being from a small town near Boston, Massachusetts, I grew up with equestrians on both sides of my family. My mother, Barbara Briggs, and her sister began riding at a very young age and went on to be very successful horsewomen. Barbara began Acres Wild Farm with Paul Valiere and his father. She rode, trained, and taught for many years which is where she met my father, Raymond Briggs, a well known blacksmith.

Raymond Briggs, amoung other things, galloped race horses for the Vanderbuilts as a young man. He began an apprenticeship as a blacksmith at 13. He went on to become a world renowned farrier for many Olympians, show barns and dressage horses until he passed away at the young age of 57.

My mother taught me how to ride before I could walk. I showed small ponies in Palm Beach at the age of 6 with my first trainer Sue Ashe. I went on to show many ponies and competed annually at Pony Finals. I won countless Championships, Circuit Champions, and Zone Champions. I have made all of my own horses and ponies. Learning on greeen horses and ponies provided me the opportunity to really know how to ride.

I began training with Paul Valiere at the age of 13 riding many green horses. I trained and showed for many years in the Medal and Maclay, as well as Junior Hunters. I was successfully competing, winning many ribbons, in the prestegious New England Equestrian Championships. Before my 18th birthday I was apprentice teaching and judging.

At 18 I became a professional. I was teaching, training, riding and judging. With many Championships and Zone Championships in the professional Hunter and Jumper divisions, I was also running Fox Print Farm, my mother's very successful sales horse farm which has produced many champions. Many of my students have become great riders that have won many prestigious awards. Many have also gone on to compete very successfully on the intercollegic circuit. Several went on to start farms of their own.

Although I have been judging locally in Florida and in New England for over 12 years, I received my USEF " r " in 2006. I am working on my " R ". I have been actively judging on the east and west coasts of Florida while working with the board of Palm Beach County Horsemans.

After 30 years of business in Massachusets, we all became weary of the harsh, cold winters. Fox Print Farm moved to Wellington. Shortly after the move, I made the decision to start Ibis Farm. Over the past 18 months, Ibis Farm has produced many champion riders and horses from the Local and Wef levels. I was also awarded the leading trainer award in 2009.

On behalf of Ibis Farm, I wish to invite you to join our family. We are expanding successfully as a business, and would love for you to come see us.
